Wakefield Christian University is trying a new approach for their debate team, declaring the new strategy as a presidential tactic.
"If we just shout out things that sound true maybe the other side will give up," Harriett Hawkins, the debate leader said, "Look how it gave the current president a majority vote."
During a college debate competition against Bayer, the Wakefield team was tasked with debating racial health conditions. Sarah Connor yelled, "Slaves were healthier working in farms," in her opening statement. When asked where she got her source she shrugged and said it felt true.
To this date, Wakefield has not won any debates, nor asked to participate in any more, but emotionally they felt justified. "Sometimes you just have to say what you think you understand and repeat it until others give up," Josh Hideo explained.
We wish them good luck on their current debate with Compton Community College with their defense of tariffs on Mexican American citizens.
